Today We Remember Ruth and Juliana McCourt

Today we remember mother and daughter, Ruth McCourt, and little Juliana McCourt, just 4 years old. On September 11th, they boarded United flight 175 to Los Angeles to visit friends and take Juliana, "Miss J", to Disneyland. Ruth's best friend and "soul sister", Paige Farley-Hackel, was accompanying the two, but used frequent flier miles for a different flight, American Airlines flight 11. They were to meet in Los Angeles. In a sad twist of fate, both AA flight 11 and UA flight 175 were hijacked. Paige's plane striking the north tower of the WTC, and Ruth and Juliana's crashing in to the south tower shortly thereafter. Ruth was a very spiritual woman. "In the life" was her saying. In addition to her tall, elegant beauty, she was blessed with a sharp, quick mind and stood firm in her convictions. Juliana, like her mom, was very feminine and very concerned about others. A little girl who would question strangers who seemed sad about what was bothering them. Ruth's family comforts themselves with their belief that when the plane crashed, Ruth was probably calm, holding her daughter tightly and softly singing in her ear.

We Will Never Forget!
