Today We Remember Kevin Dowdell, FDNY

Today we remember Lt. Kevin Dowdell, of Rescue Co. 4, FDNY, who died on Sept. 11, 2001. Friend Irving Donaldson remembers Kevin Dowdell: " He was a good man, a good dad and I know he would be proud of the lives his sons are now living." Lt. Dowdell's oldest son, West Point graduate Capt. Patrick Dowdell, is currently serving in Afghanistan, having already served in Iraq. His younger son, Firefighter James Dowdell, FDNY Ladder 174, is currently running with the Tour of Duty, a 4,600 mile circuitous cross-country run to remember those who died Sept. 11 and to raise money for wounded soldiers and the visitor's center at Ground Zero.
